MY STORY
Candice is an innovative, resourceful professional with an extensive background in the Banking, Strategy and Legal industry. Her passion lies in facilitating processes and structures related to the business of law firm management so that lawyers and legal professionals can focus on their practice and more fully serve client needs.
Candice’s commitment to the professional services industry is first evidenced by her wide-ranging and varied experience at M&T Bank where she served as a Vice President. In this role, she served as a strategic advisor to Commercial Banking Executives and Regional Leadership throughout Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, New England, and the West Coast. Under her stewardship, she directed special projects for all business lines, built collaborative relationships, and optimized operations to increase revenues.
Over the course of her tenure at the bank, Candice created and managed the Mortgage Attorney Oversight and Legal Administration Departments. While overseeing these areas, Candice was tasked with building audit programs, due diligence reviews, and score carding for law firms utilized in all 50 states and US territories. In this position she traveled onsite and audited firms ranging from AM Law ranked full-service firms to small and sole practitioners. In her words, she was able to see “the good, the bad and the very ugly of law firm operations, and partner dynamics.” This is where her passion for the legal industry was ignited.
Following her interest in the legal industry, Candice accepted an opportunity to serve as a Director for Schiller, Knapp, Lefkowitz & Hertzel, LLP, a multi-state Creditor’s Rights and Real Estate firm. This firm – comprised of 40 attorneys, 130 employees, and 7 offices operating in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont – entrusted her with firm operations and administration, accounting and finance, compliance, and marketing and business development. Additionally, Candice served on the firm’s Management Committee and was instrumental in leading the COVID-19 Response Task Force. In this role, she was able to help the firm and its employees navigate the complexities of the COVID epidemic.
Most recently, driven by her ability to affect substantial change through effective management and coaching, Candice founded Miller Strategic Advisory Group, LLC. She is passionate about aiding law firm management in the business of law, allowing attorneys to focus on the practice of law.
Candice’s insight, dedication, and professionalism isn’t limited to her consulting firm. She has been actively involved in mentorship with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara & The Southern Tier (BBBSENST) since 2017. She regularly spends time with under-resourced and under-represented youth to help them pursue their potential. Candice was elected to the Board in 2024. She has also been member of the Ambassadors Board (f/k/a Young Professionals Boards) since its inception in 2019.
Additionally, Candice served on the leadership committee of Women in Legal Leadership (“WILL”), a subset of the American Legal & Financial Network (ALFN) as co-chair of the Content, Social Media and Marketing Committee 2018-2022.
An active member of the New York Mortgage Bankers Associate (NYMBA), participating regularly in their Annual Advocacy Day as well as currently co-chairing the Communication Committee (2022-Present) and previously co-chairing the Loan Servicing Committee (2018-2022).
In 2019 she was awarded the American Legal and Financial Network’s (ALFN) Junior Professionals & Executives (JPEG): Picture the Future Award.
Candice was also nominated into M&T Bank’s Diversity Development Management Program (DDMP) an exclusive training program to fast-track selected top performers with diverse backgrounds (Class of 2014).
